Credit Recovery Program Requirements

All public schools using the Georgia Credit Recovery program must agree to the following Credit Recovery Requirements:

•    Students attempting credit recovery must have previously failed the course.
•    Schools must agree to provide a credit recovery monitor.
•    All pretests, posttests and final exams must be proctored.
•    Schools will transcribe a second course grade to reflect the credit recovery score on the official high school transcript.
•    If an EOCT test is required for a course, the student must retake the EOCT at the end of the credit recovery course.

 Credit Recovery Course Guidelines

How do the Credit Recovery courses work?

•    Students take a pretest at the beginning of each unit. If that score is 85% or higher, the student is allowed to proceed directly to that unit’s posttest.
•    If the pretest score is less than 85%, the student must view every content item in the unit. When all items have been completed, the posttest will be available to the student.
•    In order to move out of one unit into the next, the student must score a 70% or higher on the unit posttest.
•    Only unit post tests/final exams/EOCTs are recorded in the final grade.
•    Students must complete the entire course and the final exam or EOCT to receive credit for the course.
