The GA DOE Credit Recovery Program is a collaborative initiative between the Division of School Improvement and the GA Virtual School. It is an opportunity for a student to retake a course that he/she previously was not academically successful in earning credit towards graduation.
- Credit Recovery courses are designed to be on a flexibile schedule and are not facilitated by a teacher. If you are looking for a teacher led course on a semester schedule, please go to GA Virtual School for more information.
- Credit recovery options allow students that have completed seat time and calendar requirements to earn credit based on competency of the content standards.
- Credit Recovery courses are complete courses containing all GPS content on which the student will demonstrate mastery before receiving a new grade.
- The Credit Recovery program offers core courses required for graduation from a Georgia Public High School.
- The program is only available to Georgia public high schools.
- While the program is provided free to participating Georgia public high schools, the local school may incur a fee in offering the program, which will in turn be passed on to students.
