 Public Schools

The Georgia Virtual School, an education initiative of the Georgia Department of Education, provides opportunities and options for Georgia students to engage in Advanced Placement, College Preparatory, Career and Technical, and other electives online to enhance their learning experiences.

Students can take classes during the regular school day at no cost to them provided the school reports the course with the appropriate number of segments designated as GAVS courses on the state funding report.  Students can also enroll in supplemental classes, in addition to their school day schedule during fall, spring, and summer semesters.

Public school students are given registration priority as outlined under state law.  However, state funded seats are limited, and enrollment is done on a first come, first served basis.

 Facilitator Responsibilities

Facilitator Responsibilities

To assist facilitators with these responsibilities, there is a facilitator resource center that all facilitators are enrolled in.  In addition, completion of activities in the facilitator resource center meets the required hours for one PLU
